One final note on (not) seeing the time: I do not know how much you have to pay for a quartz watch whose seconds hand would leap from tick mark to tick mark and not in between. ) Besides this expected "design feature", every fifth minute tick mark is only barely thicker than the other tick marks. Note that the tick mark in the upper left corner marks the sixth minute, not the fifth. It does not matter how exact the timekeeping is since it is hard to see the exact minutes on this watch, despite its large size and great display contrast. I have a small wrist and this is a large watch --any millimeter larger would be too large. The "Hong Kong straps" ("genuine leather") also seem solid, perhaps even too solid: tightening it to my small wrist is a struggle but I do win that struggle. You can guess this from the photo already since there are no minute marks between the Roman IIII and the Roman VII. I wanted a great looking dress watch and this is exactly what I wanted....
